The Journey of Spring Water: From the Source to Your Glass 💧🌍

The Journey of Spring Water: From the Source to Your Glass 💧🌍

Blue Spring Living Water is located in Blountsville, AL on 88 acres. We are approximately 48 miles north of Birmingham, AL.

The spring is 60 feet wide and 40 feet deep. It flows just under a million gallons of spring water per day. The water is 52 degrees year around.

As one of the few North American waters truly bottled at the source, Blue Spring Living Water is never processed, with nothing added or altered.

Naturally enriched with power-minerals such as silica, magnesium, zinc and calcium creates the perfect 7.2 pH balance, it offers fresh, pure, healthy and delicious hydration.

The Origin

Blue Spring originates from the Bangor aquifer which is about 4 miles deep. (An aquifer is a saturated underground layer of rock or sediment that transmits water.)

The Bangor aquifer is groundwater primarily composed of Bangor Limestone and Hartselle Sandstone rock formations.

It takes about 300 years for the water to make it from the aquifer to the harvesting pool. (Pretty amazing huh?)

The water flows through limestone and dolomite and this natural filtering process is what gives it the perfect PH and clarity.

The History

During the Creek Indian War Davy Crockett and Andrew Jackson were said to have discovered the spring while out on a hunting trip.

Because the spring provided a great source of hydration the very first stage coach trail which was from Ohio to Louisiana, came through where it was located.

Also the first mail route, so there was a lot of activity around the spring before the land was even settled.

Nature’s Tap

The spring has a spillway (A structure built at a dam or levee to safely release excess water into a river or other body of water downstream.) that goes through the back of the pasture and it flows down to Blue Spring Creek.

Blue Spring Creek travels the foothills of the Southern Appalachians. It runs down into and feeds the Spring Valley Water Park which means you can swim in Blue Spring Water.

The Bottling Process

A lot of thought went into how we were going to bottle such a precious water source.

When we started building the Blue Spring brand, it was our goal to have our product in schools, gyms and on the golf course etc which glass is prohibited.

As a result, we chose a high grade PET, BPA-free, fully recyclable plastic, so there is zero waste.
